Core Objective and Philosophy

Start Bench Sell is not just a guessing game, but an in-depth managerial simulation that tests your football knowledge, budget management, and analytical thinking skills. Your main goal is to reach the maximum score and climb the global leaderboard by making the most optimal choices among the random star players presented to you. For each of the 3 players you encounter in a round, you must make critical decisions considering your team's current economic situation, the players' performance potential, and their synergy (chemistry) with each other. Remember, sometimes selling the most expensive player is the best move for the team's future.

Core Mechanics: 3 Critical Decisions

1. Analyze

Carefully examine the market values, positions, leagues, and nationalities of the 3 random football players you face. These features directly affect both your budget and the chemistry points you will earn.

2. Decide

Start: You put the player in your starting 11. It earns you full performance points and forms the core strength of your team.
Bench: You pull the player to the bench. It earns you half points, helps you protect your budget, and adds rotation depth.
Sell: You don't get points from the player, but by putting part of their market value into the safe, you create a critical budget (transfer fund) for subsequent rounds.

3. Build Your Squad

Build your starting 11 and bench based on your choices. Continue to strengthen your team with the budget you earn from sales. Your final squad formed after all rounds are completed determines your score.

Scoring System & Classification

Market ValuePlayer ClassPoints (Start / Bench)
80M€ +Elite Star700 / 350
30M€ - 79M€Super Star500 / 250
10M€ - 29M€Star Player300 / 150
10M€ -Standard Player100 / 50

Budget Management Warning: If you exceed your current transfer budget (100%), you receive a penalty of -10 Points for every million Euro (1M€) exceeded. This penalty indicates that your team does not comply with financial fair-play rules and can severely damage your position in the overall standings.

Chemistry Points & Economic Bonuses

Team Chemistry (Synergy)

A good team is not just made of stars; they must play in harmony. You earn Chemistry Points when you include players from the same league or same nationality in your starting 11 and bench. These points provide a massive contribution to your final total score.

Same League Bonus (+15)Same Nationality Bonus (+25)

Savings and Budget Bonus

If you finish the game without spending your entire budget (leaving money in the bank), you earn extra points proportional to your remaining money. Smart financial management is always rewarded.

Every 1M€ Saved = +5 Points

Advanced Tactics for Master Managers

Prioritize Chemistry Synergy

Although it is tempting to buy only high-scoring and expensive players, cheaper players playing in the same league can bring a much higher total score when brought together. Try to build your team backbone based on a specific league.

Make Sales Strategically

If a player with a high value but not suitable for your team chemistry comes in the early rounds, sell them without thinking. This will give you the flexibility to easily buy elite players in the later rounds.

Save Budget for Final Rounds

Don't spend all your money in the first rounds. Make sure to keep some emergency funds in the safe for the superstars you will encounter towards the end of the game.

The Bench is Crucial

Even though the players you bench bring you half points, they fully contribute to the chemistry bonuses. Use your substitutes as joker players to complete team harmony.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is the chemistry point calculated?

The chemistry point is calculated based on the number of common leagues and nationalities of the players in your squad (starting 11 and bench). The more common points, the higher the bonus points. The system does this calculation automatically at the end of the game.

Why did my score drop to negative?

If your total team cost (the total value of the players you started and benched) exceeded your given transfer budget, you have received a financial penalty. Be careful to keep the budget indicator in the green zone.

Can I play the game again?

Yes, there is no limit! You can play as much as you want, try different tactics to improve your score, and climb the leaderboard. Only your highest score affects the ranking.
